Into the Wild

i really liked the movie Into the Wild, but honestly i would have never in a million years do what that man did. i could never burn money n cut up my credit cards and i give him credit for that. it was very brave of him to just pack a few things and then go on his way into the wild, without knowing where he will end up. he survived a long, long time out there in the wild. i wished the movie didnt end with him dying. i think it would have been better if he had jes went home to his family and got better and then they could have had a part 2. overall i loved the movie; i would recommend this movie to anybody. i give it TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!

My spring break adventure

this spring break i went to visit my old friends down in san diego. i havent seen them in 3 years, so i was really excited. i took the train down there and it felt like it tooks days to get there. Me and my friend sarah went to 3 different malls and the last mall we went to a famous rapper named Flo rida was there and we got to take pictures with him. it was pretty cool. on saturday night me and 3 of my other friends went to a black and white party. there were soo many fine guys there. the dj wasnt playing good music so we decided to go to TJ in mexico.  i was kind of scared going there because of all the bad things happening there but i still went. when we got there we had to park in a parking lot before we got to the border. Tj was a messed up city. it was sticky and dirty. there were mothers and children sitting outside on the streets beggin for money. it was so sad. i felt really bad for them especially the liitle children. we had to walk through the border and then catch a cap to the club. we went to a club called the animale. it was alright i guess, but there werent that many people there because everyone was at a club called cucabonga cuz E40 was there doin a concert. overall i had a good time in tj dancing. my whole spring break was good but it went by too fast.

“Kinda Cussin” by Marlon Manuel

I agree with Marlon Manuel in his article “Kinda Cussin” that younger children these days are ruder and disrespectful compared to how it used to be back in the old days. Firstly, children are starting to use foul language at a young age. Secondly, parents aren’t as strict as their parents were back then. Lastly, peer pressure plays a major role in how children act and behave around each other and at school

Children these days have a really bad mouth at a young age. For instance, I baby sat this little boy who was around 7 years old and you wouldn’t believe the bad language that came out his mouth. I was shocked and surprised to hear him say the things he was saying. I didn’t even know he knew half the words that he said. In my opinion, young children who be using curse words or even words that are on the borderline of cussing hear it being said at home by parents or older siblings. Adults in general are using this kind of language in front of young children. “I have recently heard that word uttered in a second-grade class and in a Presbyterian church- by the teacher and preacher, respectively.” This quote shows that adults don’t care the kind of language they use in front of children.

Parents today don’t care that much if their children are using cuss words or words on the borderline. For example, my little sister had said the word “bitch”  one time and my mom had put soap in her mouth, but now when she be using bad language she just tells my little sister that she can say those words only if she know what they mean and how to spell it. To me, parents still shouldn’t let their children say those kinds of words even if they do know how to spell it and what it means because that’s just setting a bad example for them. Parents are letting their children get away with too many things and some parents say they are the way they are because they don’t want to treat their children how their parents treated them when they were growing up. That’s still no excuse though. Children have no curfew and they be staying out late do who knows what. Parents are allowing their children to watch rated R movies and play violent video games. That’s another way children get there bad language and actions from. “She hears them in songs or on MTV.” This quote hears proves my point about how some TV shows and music are sending bad messages out to young children.

“At lot of my guy friends use a lot more slang words and stuff.” Peers are a big part of how children act shown in that quote. At school, children use bad language and act inappropriate around each other. There’s no one around to stop them from behaving that way, especially at school where everyone does it. Some children probably just uses cuss words at school just to fit in with the cool kids. “We use them regularly, La Blanc said of her and her friends.”

The uses of borderline expletives play a huge role in our culture. Children use foul language in front of adults. Children don’t care how they act in front of people. The disrespect and actions young children are performing these days are out of control. Parents need to take control of their children and the way they let their children act. At school, children should not just use bad language to fit in but stand out by not using those kinds of words at all.

Essay on “air pollution”

My topic for my persuasive paper is going to be on air pollution. There are many solutions that can play a part in helping reduce air pollution. People could instead of drive their car, walk or ride a bike. You can change the electronic devices you use in your household for example, instead of using incardescent light bulbs you can use compact fluorescent bulbs. You can save as much energy as possible. You can start recycling and participate in trying to keep our environment clean by going to beach clean ups or picking up trash you see on the floor. To support my claim I could use some personal experiences by telling my audience how at first i was one of those people played a part in creating air pollution, but then tell them the steps im taking in trying to reduce air pollution. The audience i will target is going to be people care about their health because air polllution has serious effects on our health.

Analyzing Verbal and Visual Arguments (EW)

  • There are two types of arguments: visual and verbal
  • Arguments could have appeals such as, emotional, logical, and ethical

To Create arguments:

  • You need to make a claim about something and create a thesis.
  • Pick an audience you would like to target
  • Find reasons to support your claim
  • Use to different appeals, concrete and commentary details, and figurative language.

At the end make sure that you cite where you got your sources from.

Writing styles

When im about to write it takes me a while to think of how to start it becasue i want it to be perfect. i have to brainstorm all my ideas and then put the ones that go together in one group to create my paragraphs and their order. in my writings i like to use personal experiences and facts from resources. Tlapalli’s writing style have some similarites with mine becasue she likes to talk about herself and family; her personal experiences, like i do.

Snyder’s “Coming into the watershed”

“You are living in this great landscape” (Synder) I agree with him when he said that were living a great landscape, but people living here are not appreciative about our landscape because we are not talking care of it like we should. Instead we are making it not a great landscape. My biggest concern about the environment is that we will destroy it by pollution and global warming. Synder also says “many colors of the land, many colors of skin, ” this quote shows that not just one race can or is destroying the land, but everyone plays a part in it.
